Statutorily required renewable energy consumed by the agency
Oops..when this executive order was signed, there was no previous law requiring specified renewable energy consumption. Executive Order 13123 required a goal to be set, but the deadline to meet that goal passed in 2005. Here is a history of efficiency laws.
However, towards the end of 2007 a law was passed, stating:
At least 30 percent of hot water demand in new or renovated federal buildings must come from solar hot water heating, if life-cycle cost-effective. Existing buildings with minor renovations must incorporate the most energy-efficient designs, equipment, and controls.
