Mosh pits are usually associated with punk or metal concerts, wherein revelers slam into each other aggressively as a fun way of enjoying the show.

The way Eminem say mosh pit makes it sound like marsh pit. I think he is trying to say he creates his own mosh pit like no other and calls it a marsh pit. Marsh is also the first five letters of his actuall name (Marshall)

Fatlip is 33 and doesn’t have a high school degree or equivalent, so he better get started.

“GED” refers to the set of General Education Development tests used in the US and Canada to award high school equivalence degrees.

People often thing GED stands for ‘General Equivalence Degree’ or somesuch, but in fact it technically refers only to the tests, not the certificate awarded.

Emma Stone is set to star in the upcoming Woody Allen movie Magic in the Moonlight.

She may have gotten special attention here for her role introducing Diane Keaton at the 2014 Golden Globes, where Keaton accepted a Cecil B. DeMille award on behalf of Allen.

Diane Keaton has starred in a number of beloved Woody Allen movies, most famously Annie Hall, for which she won an Oscar for her performance.

She probably got called out so hard here in part due to her recent, somewhat rambling, acceptance speech at the Golden Globes (where she accepted the Cecil B. DeMille award on behalf of Allen).

Obama is vowing to ‘act alone’ and issue Executive Orders if/when Congress refuses to act. He seems to be suggesting this approach will apply mostly to his domestic/economic agenda, which is interesting since Presidents are typically given more leeway by the courts to exercise unilateral executive power over foreign affairs.

Everyone always says they prefer Congressional action to unilateral Executive Orders. For example, Rahm Emmanuel told the New York Times:

There is nothing like legislation

But then naturally he backs up the President:

But given the challenges that are mounting, the country cannot afford Congress to go M.I.A.

Young companies don’t always appoint any outside directors (non-founder, non-VC). Some folks see this as a mistake, since bringing outside directors in early is an opportunity to maintain some balance if VCs start to outnumber founders on the board.

A very legitimate fear. An Apollo space capsule reentering the Earth’s atmosphere likely faced temperatures (on the surface of its heat shield) in excess of 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit (~1,648 Celsius!)
