Rosalind Mallia Franklin, sometimes known as The Queen Of Funk, was an American vocalist and a member the American funk band Parliament-Funkadelic. Mallia provided background vocals on early Parliament and Funkadelic albums, and in 1978 became an original member of Parlet, P-Funk’s sub-group, where she recorded Pleasure Principle (1978) and co-recorded Invasion Of The Booty Snatchers (1979). Later, she left the group to form a proposed P-Funk offshoot, Sterling Silver Starship, with bassist Donnie Sterling.
