About Richard Berger

Richard Berger was born in Philly, grew up on East Coast and is now living in LA. He started writing and recording music in high school. “I was always less interested in learning cover songs
and loved the idea that I could create something original that never existed before.”

Berger’s early influences include The Beatles, BeachBoys, Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, all
of which he listened to since elementary school. In the ‘80s and ’90s Berger listened to a lot of new wave and modern rock bands like Tears for Fears, Level 42, Trip Shakespeare and Ben Folds Five. “These days, I have been listening to a lot of Tame Impala, Homeshake, Mac Demarco, Jerry Paper, Anderson Paak, Frank Ocean, and The Internet. I am always looking for new music and love to discover other indie artists.”

Berger has a hard time answering that question everyone asks…what genre is your music?… “I don’t really think my music fits neatly into a single genre – probably some blend of indie/alternative to psychedelic synth-pop. His music clearly blends together elements from the wide range of his influences to create something new and unique.

Berger released his first 3-song EP “Not There” in 2018. Since then, he released several singles from his new album “Where Did It Go” which was just released on Jan 1, 2021.

By day, Berger is the CEO of MovieLabs, a technology JV of the major motion picture studios
(Disney, Paramount, Sony Pictures Universal and Warner Bros.) In his spare time, he is focused on getting the word out on his new album and has already started writing new material.
