About Enya

Eithne Pádraigín Ní Bhraonáin, known by the mononym Enya, is an Irish composer, singer, songwriter and musician. She began her career in the early 1980s, initially alongside the folk band Clannad, whose members were her uncles Noel and Pádraig Duggan, and her elder siblings Ciarán, Pól, and Máire (who also performs solo as Moya Brennan). Enya became a solo artist in 1982. Her breakthrough album Watermark, which featured the mega-hit “Orinoco Flow (Sail Away)”, was released in 1988.

With the support of producer Nicky Ryan and lyricist Roma Ryan, Enya has achieved international stardom for her voice and her compositions.
