Prior to joining the Bulls as their GM, Rod Thorn was an All-American guard at West Virginia University, played in the NBA for Detroit, St. Louis, and Seattle, and served as an Assistant or Head Coach for several teams.

Michael was very close with his parents, particularly his father James Jordan Sr., who was shot to death in a car jacking on October 6, 1993. The death of MJ’s father had a profound impact on the G.O.A.T., shaping Michael’s decision to retire from basketball for the first time in 1993.
As a child, Michael imitated his father’s tendency to stick out his tongue when absorbed in work–he would later adopt this look as his signature, displaying it each time he drove to the basket.

Archbishop Philip M. Hannan met John F. Kennedy, then a Massachusetts congressman, in the late 1940s. They became close friends, and Archbishop Hannan secretly counseled Kennedy during his presidency.
Jacqueline Kennedy had asked that Archbishop Hannan deliver the eulogy for her husband, but had the Kennedys followed church protocol the Archbishop of Washington, Archbishop Patrick J. O'Boyle would have been the one to deliver the eulogy–Archbishop Hannan served under him.
When Sargent Shriver pointed out that technically it had to be Archbishop O'Boyle, Jackie Kennedy dug in her heels and said “Absolutely not, it’s going to be Hannan or no one. If they ask, just tell them I got hysterical and you couldn’t straighten me out.”
