Chandler’s really selling himself as a Bono impersonator here. In fact, maybe too well, as a lawyer from Universal Music Publishing Group posted a cease-and-desist order on the original video, contending that Bank of America had violated Universal’s copyright of the U2 song.

In 2005, Bank of America agreed to acquire MBNA for $35 billion in cash and stock. At the time, MBNA was the world’s largest independent issuer of credit cards, and Bank of America, behind CEO Ken Lewis, was determined to become the largest financial institution in the world.

MBNA was a pioneer of securitizing credit card debt, which might have seemed like a good idea in 2005, but came back to haunt many investors throughout the ongoing financial crisis that began in 2007.

MBNA was hardly Lewis’s most questionable acquisition, though. BofA’s merger with Countrywide Financial is considered by many to be the single worst merger in the history of corporate America

And back to the song for a second: does that pause between “together” and “now” qualify as caesura?
