In response to the Congressional gridlock surrounding immigration reform, Carlos Gutierrez, former Secretary of Commerce under President George W. Bush, organized the support of over one hundred of the Republican party’s major donors behind this letter, which was sent to the Republican members of the House of Representatives.

In anticipation of the peace talks between Israel and Palestine to take place on July 30, 2013, President Obama released this statement, expressing his hopes for the talks and praising Secretary Kerry’s efforts on behalf of a resolution.

In February of 2013, a group of detainees at Guantanamo Bay began a hunger strike to protest their incarceration.
