“UPC” stands for “Universal Product Code.”

The law school equivalent of “CliffNotes” are the “Emanuel Law Outlines.” Steven Emanuel was a first-year Harvard Law School student in 1974 when he started writing a civil procedure outline for his own personal use. Later, he started selling the outline to his fellow students – including me – and eventually created a whole series of outlines, a bar exam prep course, and other study aids. His company (Emanual Publishing) was eventually sold to Wolters Kluwer, but he still oversees edits and updates to his publications.

This 1972 movie, which was based on the James Dickey novel of the same name, is best remembered for its homosexual rape scene, where some toothless hillbillies make Ned Beatty “squeal like a pig.”

“Foul Play” is the title of a godawful 1978 comedy/mystery starring Chevy Chase. (But I repeat myself – all Chevy Chase movies are godawful.)

To make matters even worse, Dudley Moore is one of Chevy’s co-stars.

Goldie Hawn is the only good thing about this movie. She must have really needed the money.
