Arguably one of human kind’s most significant audio/music compilations, often referred to as earth’s mixtape, is the Voyager Golden Record.
These phonograph records, constructed by Carl Sagan and NASA were placed inside the Voyager 1 & Voyager 2 spacecrafts which have reached interstellar travel. Carl Sagan stated
The spacecraft will be encountered and the record played only if there are advanced space-faring civilizations in interstellar space, but the launching of this ‘bottle’ into the cosmic ‘ocean’ says something very hopeful about life on this planet.
The record contains greetings in 55 different lagnuages, a compilation of “Sounds of Earth”, as well as several songs that represent the various cultures of this planet.
