Neapolis

Simple Minds

About “Neapolis”

First, the album’s name HERE is missing the “´” in “Néapolis”.
With this album Simple Minds decided to musically reinvent themselves yet again. Derek Forbes returned after eleven years of absence, but was dropped again after the (dogged) supporting tour in 1999.
Simple Minds also reunited with producer Peter Walsh for this album, who’d been responsible for their acclaimed 1982 “New Gold Dream” album.
Néapolis was released by Chrysalis Records in the UK, but charted poorly. Chrysalis refused to release the album in the U.S., citing lack of interest.
