Star! (Original Motion Picture Sound Track Album)

This is the soundtrack to Robert Wise’s 1968 musical biography of Gertrude Lawrence, starring Andrews as the singer and actress, with Andrews re-creating many of the songs that Lawrence made famous. The film was a commercial failure despite seven Oscar nominations, and cycled through numerous recut versions that inspired Wise to ask the studio to take his name off the film.
