“Surfing on Sine Waves” is the first studio album released by Richard D. James under Warp records following the release of “Quoth”, and before the release of “On”. It is the first and only album under the alias of “Polygon Window”. “Portreath Harbour and "Redruth School” are referencing Richard’s hometown of Cornwall. The name of the album was chosen by Warp records manager Rob Mitchell after James stated, “loads of people I knew growing up in Cornwall were poser surfers and I didn’t wanna hang around with them.”
