@WizeMack

I’m never sitting inside because I’m always outstanding.

For amusement.

My philosophy on art interpretation:
Great artists of any medium produce by feel. They do what instinctively feels best. When we listen to their work, those same feelings are evoked in us, or not. But when we spend time analyzing their work in depth, we see the various connections and reasons that made it “feel right” to them – things they probably didn’t even consciously realize during the creative process. We see those things because of our universal human interconnectedness. Renowned psychologist Carl Jung called this concept the “collective unconscious”. It’s similar the Taoist belief of harmony with nature. I like to think of it as an element of the Holy Spirit.
That being said, yes of course, sometimes we over-analyze. I’m just making the point that even if the artist didn’t intend a certain interpretation, it was probably nonetheless part of the creative process.
(By the way folks, Lou Reed agrees with me! Search “He feels it”. I discovered this article with his quote some months after writing the above.)

Big shout out to Spinelli for making me an editor on 9/9/13!
