The Newsweek story made much of Dorian Nakamoto’s perceived unusual affect. The fact that he has suffered a stroke was not mentioned until nearly the end of the article.

While this may seem like an overreaction in the abstract, it is worth bearing in mind that Dorian Nakamoto had a background in classified military projects.

Interesting how the stroke wasn’t brought up at the beginning of the story when she was describing his affect and mannerisms. I suggest rereading the first several paragraphs of the story and see if the additional words “stroke victim” might have been helpful before now.

I am not aware of anyone who has attempted to send international wires who is not frustrated with bank fees and high exchange rates.

Bitcoin was created so Mr. Nakamoto could buy model trains more cheaply. Sadly his trusted model train shop still doesn’t support bitcoin payments. Nakamoto’s dream seems to be still very far away.

Virtually everyone trained in any aspect of finance in the last 50 years has been taught to work in reverse Polish notation. I think it is still a standard part of many top business schools as well. It is not nearly as uncommon as this implies.

Also, Bitcoin’s scripting language is a stack-based VM, so it’s natural to express certain concepts in RPN.

As opposed to all the other fathers who encourage their daughters to be dependent and to be under the government’s thumb?

That’s a BS response — I was taught about the need to maintain a good credit score, which could be read that way. Regardless, saying specifically “watch out for the government” is not something all parents teach their kids.

He’s a Japanese American. Won’t you agree, JamesDiGioia 100, that he had all reasons to be wary of the government?

Is there anyone left on planet Earth who does not screen their phone calls? What is this, 1962?

Note the rhetorical sleight of hand right here. A fluid segue from “Bitcoin Satoshi” to “Dorian Satoshi” when the reporter has not yet established that they are the same.

The equivalent name in the United States would be Adam Cary.

The photo is very, very old. The older it gets, the more it amuses me when I see it!
