About

Genius Annotation

Overall, an easy but not witty crossword. It had all the standard dressings: French articles, “Kia”, “Dadaists”, but most of the puns weren’t funny.

When I finally figured out the trick after finishing the entire thing (answers that seemed odd on the left half were matched to blank clues on the right half with the word “back” added in) – I felt stupid.

I spent much too long convinced the main riddle was a play on River Styx and the band Styx. It was not.
