This dismal notion has a special meaning for Britons, as Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher offered that “there is no alternative” to neoliberal capitalism.
That’s it. We’ve figured it out as a species. Game’s over. These were the victorious claims of Reagan and Thatcher as the Soviet Union crumbled and hyper-capitalism was poised to overtake the entire globe.
The phrase is alternately known by its abbreviation: “TINA.”
