In the night of 13 to 14 May this year, Russian FSB counter-intelligence agencies, while he was trying to recruit a staff member of one of the Russian special services, detained a career member of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, Ryan Christopher Fogle, working under the cover of the Third Secretary of the political department of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow.

It was found that he had special technical equipment, written instructions for the Russian citizen being recruited, a large sum of money and means of changing his appearance. The detainee was taken to the Russian Federal Security Service and, after the reception and the conducting of the necessary procedures, was referred to official representatives of the U.S. Embassy.

Recently, the U.S. intelligence community has repeatedly attempted to recruit employees of Russian law enforcement bodies and special departments, which were recorded and passed to the control of the Russian FSB counter-intelligence.
